Lara Leigh Simmentals was established in September 1988 with females purchased from Big Plains, Munga Park, Onkaparinka and later Woonallee. These were then joined to sires such as Penbro Park Heckler, Dunmore Ben Lexcen, Camus Frontier and later Bar 5 SA Glover 854T, Bar 5 FF Hexagon 412Y, BAR 5 Globetrotter, BAR 5 P SA Expert, LRX HP Rocket & BAR 5 P SA Evolution along with some home breed sires.

Over the past few years our focus has been to breed Fullblood cattle based on South African and German genetics. These were obtained with the help of Fred Schuetze, with embryos sourced from Buzzard Hollow and Simmentals of Texas dams, joined to a raft of old and new genetics many of which are new to Australia. Our AI sire bank now includes Sires T5 Orange Hollow, MFI JEREMIAH 9022 “JUGGERNAUT” and our latest Saint John Gatton 38G.
